That is very frustrating for a driver.Ģ) The only parcels that are prioritized are in the following order:ģ) What you are seeing is most likely what's caused by other packages in the same area of delivery being physically scanned, causing a "phantom" or logic scan. Otherwise, they have to deliver the same package the next day. Their goal is to get back to the center empty. Drivers cannot choose to just stop delivering. Basically, we have until 11:59pm to get everything delivered. They are limited to 14hours per day of driving on the clock. I was REALLY surprised when the guy on the phone told me today that they never even loaded it on the truck (even though I got the "follow it on the map" and everything).ġ) A driver is not limited to 9:00pm. It would be good to understand what the various statuses REALLY mean. It's important that I get this this week, and if I can't trust the system that says "your delivery can be scheduled on this day, based on the number of packages ahead of yours and our capacity", then I'll have to make alternate arrangements and return this late one when it finally arrives. Is it actually possible the backlog is actually like 10 days long, but their systems just give you false hope every day? Or is it reasonable to expect it's going to happen tomorrow? I know they're not loading it on the truck every day. But from the recent experience, they're just marking it "out for delivery" every single day and then going back on it. does missing the cut on the previous day make my package higher priority than packages due the next day)?ģ) After calling today, it sounds like they're just working their way through a big backlog, caused by recent events. This morning, it was "Out for Delivery", and WHOOPS rescheduled to tomorrow, like wth.ġ) Are drivers required to go home after 9pm, or are they required to finish their allotted deliveries and get paid overtime? Or can they choose?Ģ) If I didn't get my package because it's at the tail end of the route, will this be an ongoing problem, or do packages that failed to get delivered on the required day get intelligently prioritized on the next delivery, to make sure this doesn't keep happening (i.e. Now, it's been getting delayed due to weather/emergency on a daily basis. The package was never delivered that day. I was like, "hey that's the truck with my package!" In fact, I was going for a run in the neighborhood, and even saw the truck on go by (confirmed it on the map). Last week, it was "Out for delivery", and I could even follow it on a map.
